Dream Mutt is the 1st episode from season 5 of The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy. It was produced in 2004.

Synopsis[]

The story begins with Billy requesting his dad to have a pet dog which is free. When Harold allows him and he gets confused on which to pick, Harold forces Grim to convert all the four dogs into a single dog. When Grim turns the dogs, Wiggy Jiggy Jed appeared as the dream mutt of Billy. They both becomes best friends.

Then, Mandy is seen to be in a program, which discusses that has Billy has found his dream mutt or if it will only last one day. The program also calls Harold and Grim, both of whom seem to think the latter.

On the other, it is shown that how much Billy and Wiggy enjoyed being each others best friend. Billy shows Wiggy around his house and the basement, where he shows him Grim's magical trunk. When Billy does not allow him to sleep on his bed and takes Jed to a dog house, Jed sneaks in the house in the middle of the night while Billy is asleep and enters the basement to use the trunk to make a machine, which can blow air and vacuum clean all the beds in Endsville, so he can get to sleep on different beds everyday or he can also open a bed shop and get rich.

Billy runs and enters the program studio where Mandy is at and asks for help. Grim gives him a green dish of primordial ooze, which when thrown on a magically created creature can remove him. Billy then brings up his final opinion on Wiggy Jiggy Jed.

Trivia[]

  • Billy's fish Lil' Porkchop makes a cameo in this episode, during the flashback of how Billy treated the last pet he had.
  • Wiggy Jiggy Jed appears to be a homage to anthropomorphic dog characters created by Cartoon Network's predecessor, Hanna-Barbera. In fact, the episode's title card strongly resembles those for characters of earlier Hanna-Barbera shows, like Yogi Bear, Huckleberry Hound, and Snagglepuss.
